Delivery Time and Pricing Study
Delivery platforms like DoorDash, Instacart, and Grubhub connect customers with drivers and shoppers using automated matching and pricing systems that aim to minimize average wait and delivery times. These systems estimate delivery time based on numerous factors including customer and driver locations, demand, traffic, and restaurant preparation time.
This research project aims to evaluate the predictive performance of these delivery time estimates, as well as how these platforms use personalized pricing and promotions.
What you will do
- Phase 1: Upload your delivery email receipts for orders placed on DoorDash, Grubhub, and Instacart, and request your delivery history data downloads from these platforms.
- Phase 2: Upload your delivery history data downloads and complete an exit survey.
The combined data will help us understand how accurately platforms predict delivery times and how promotions and pricing vary across orders and users.
